How to Use Instagram to Communicate With Friends and Family

Once you’ve set up your account, you can use Instagram to communicate with friends and family. Direct messages let you privately chat with people you’ve followed. Direct messages to non-followers are automatically sorted into a folder called “message requests.” In order to start a conversation with someone, they must accept your direct message. Direct messages are available in both the Instagram app and desktop website. There are many ways to add captions and mention friends.

Stories are available on Instagram as well. You can add them using live video or a photo from your phone gallery. You can also add creative elements to them. Instagram Stories are meant to disappear after a day. After that, they’re automatically saved to a private Archive. Alternatively, you can permanently publish your stories. The feature is not available to all users. But, it does allow you to comment and share posts. After all, the more you post, the more your friends and followers will see it.

Once you’ve set up an account on Instagram, you can find friends to follow by going to the Explore page. You can then browse accounts and topics, and search for other users by typing their usernames in the search field. You can also send a direct message to any account that you like. However, be aware that your direct message will only be sent to people you follow, so don’t send any awkward messages to strangers! If you want to chat with someone, you can go to the profile of the person you want to contact.
